Repair Terms & Conditions
Everything you need to know about our repair process — from drop-off to collection — including our 3-month warranty and your rights under the Consumer Protection Act.
Agreement to These Terms
By submitting a device for repair at PC Vitamins, you ("Customer") agree to these Repair Terms and Conditions. These terms apply to all repair services provided by PC Vitamins at Shop U169, Eastgate Shopping Centre, Bedfordview, Germiston ("we", "us", "PC Vitamins").
These terms must be read alongside our General Terms & Conditions, which also apply to all interactions with PC Vitamins.
Bring your device in for a free quote. You are under no obligation to proceed with a repair after receiving a quote — we will return your device unrepaired at no charge unless a diagnostic fee applies.
Device Drop-Off
When dropping off your device, you will be asked to provide:
- Your name, contact number, and email address
- A description of the fault or issue
- The device's make, model, and IMEI (where applicable)
- Any passcode or PIN required to access the device for testing (optional — you may provide this later)
A Job Card will be issued. Please retain this — it is required for collection of your device.
By handing over your device, you confirm that you are the lawful owner or authorised representative of the owner, and that the device has not been reported as stolen or lost. PC Vitamins reserves the right to refuse service on any device that appears to be stolen or has been flagged by the South African Police Service (SAPS).
Please remove SIM cards, memory cards, cases, and accessories before drop-off. PC Vitamins accepts no responsibility for loss of or damage to accessories left with the device.
Diagnostic Assessment
All devices submitted for repair are assessed by our technicians. The following applies:
- A free visual and basic functional assessment is carried out on all devices.
- For complex faults (e.g., board-level damage, liquid damage, microsoldering), a diagnostic fee may apply. Any diagnostic fee will be communicated to you before the assessment begins and requires your consent.
- If you choose not to proceed with a repair after the diagnostic, the diagnostic fee is payable before your device is returned.
- If you proceed with the repair, the diagnostic fee is credited toward the total repair cost.
PC Vitamins will contact you with a quote once the diagnostic is complete. We aim to complete assessments within 1 business day of drop-off for standard repairs, and within 2–3 business days for complex or board-level repairs.
Parts & Components
PC Vitamins uses quality replacement parts appropriate to the device and repair type. Where possible, OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) or OEM-equivalent parts are used.
- Parts used are disclosed to you in the repair quote.
- In some cases, we may offer a choice between part grades (e.g., OEM vs. aftermarket) at different price points. We will clearly explain the differences.
- Replaced original parts are made available to the Customer upon request unless they are hazardous (e.g., swollen batteries), in which case they are safely disposed of.
- PC Vitamins does not use parts from devices reported as stolen.
